Hotel Riviera opened in the summer of 2023 in a completely new district "Verket" in Moss. Riviera means where sea meets land and Hotel Riviera is located at the far end with the sea and the beach as the nearest neighbour.

We draw inspiration from the various rivieras around the world and create our own destination with 172 rooms. "It's not just a place, it's a feeling". Central to Hotel Riviera is our Social Club where we redefine the traditional conference and transform our seven meeting rooms into impressive chambre séparées. On the top floor of the 14th floor you will find our Pool & Wellness Club. At street level facing the sea, guests can experience our Beach Club, Brasserie Bon Vivant, Bar & Patio.

Hotel Riviera is looking for our next Sous Chef

Main tasks:

  • Partially responsibility for all kitchen operation - consisting of breakfast, a la carte, banquet functions & canteen
  • Responsible for daily implementation of operations, and control of deliveries and activity at the house
  • Co-responsibility for all staff in kitchen departments
  • Product orders and purchases
  • Participating in menu development for all concepts
  • Refinement of product and team
  • Co-responsible for the recruitment of chefs and other kitchen staff
  • Quality responsibility and control

Qualifications and characteristics:

We are looking for someone who has considerable experience as a manager within kitchen operations. You naturally have a certificate as a chef, but even more important are good leadership skills. You are confident and mature, and have the ability to lead tomorrow's kitchen stars and a stable team through motivation, good follow-up and control. You work closely with our Executive Head Chef, who is overall responsible for all operations in the kitchen. Furthermore, we want you to be flexible, have a good mood, have good communication skills, be hardworking and conscientious, and of course with a great interest in good food and happy guests! You like to work actively in the kitchen, and have the ability to lead and teach.
