The Role

The Business Development Manager at Intertek West Lab is a senior leader and a key resource for retaining revenue and driving growth, building customer relationships, and ensuring strategic alignment with organizational objectives.

We are looking for an experienced leader with sales experience and business acumen skills to support the business through its next phase of growth and development. The role is required to build, develop and sustain excellent relationships both internally and externally, with customers, their supply chains optimizing service to customers and identifying synergies across geographical boundaries in order to deliver our Total Quality Assurance proposition.

This will be a full-time position based in Tananger, Norway.

Key responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue opportunities to expand the client base and identify and pursue new business opportunities, including potential markets, products, and services.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
  • Prepare and present compelling proposals to potential clients.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
  • Develop strategies to upsell or cross-sell products and services to clients.
  • Develop and implement long-term business development strategies aligned with organizational goals and strategic plans to capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Monitor industry developments and competitor activities to inform business strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales and marketing (international team), and operations, to achieve business objective.
  • Strategic planning, business development and securing internal support and resources.
  • Revenue and margin monitoring and action planning.
  • Drive projects from start to finish, to address customer challenges.

Who are you?

  • You have basic understanding and work experience of the oil and gas operations, technologies, and regulations. But also experience in the offshore business.
  • Capable of nurturing strong client, partner, and influencer relationships to drive business growth.
  • You are able to develop and execute long-term business strategies in alignment with organizational goals and industry trends.
  • You have good oral and written proficiency in Norwegian and English.
  • You have P&L experience / revenue responsibility in business review.
  • You are flexible for frequent travel within Norway as well as outside of Norway, less frequent.

We are looking for someone with strong organizational and communication skills, as well as a long experience of being an entrepreneurial leader, leading and motivating business development teams towards achieving targets.
