As Senior Manager Financial Reporting, you will be central in a global team that is building the financial framework that allows Cognite to further scale in Norway and support international growth. You will manage the corporate accounting processes of Cognite in Norway, supported by a team of external accountants and advisors. In this setting, you will need to show a high degree of independence combined with a structured mindset. This will require initiative, stamina combined with strong functional expertise in accounting and process.

Reporting to VP Financial Reporting

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Preparing the financial statements in accordance with IFRS for the entities with the Cognite Group including the Consolidated Financial Statements
  • Preparing the tax papers for the Norwegian entities
  • Managing the monthly close process
  • Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory law and financial regulations
  • Following up of tax and accounting issues as well as assisting with the coordination with Tax advisors and External Auditors
  • Driving scaling of financial control procedures and activities in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintaining and developing group accounting principles and financial controlling and business controlling procedures
  • Owning the relationship with Azets Insight and People & Strategy (focus on accuracy of numbers and efficient payroll process)
  • Controlling the Statutory reporting (tax & VAT)
  • Owning the Procure to Pay process and driving continuous improvement of process and stakeholder management
  • Owning Visma Expense with Azets and People & Strategy
  • Collaborating on Vendor Management (with Sourcing team)
  • Coordinating the external accountants to ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Assist in preparing the quarterly reporting to our main investors and support management with clearing meetings and AC presentations
  • Maintaining proper access control to all systems Finance owns (NetSuite, Visma Expense, Expensify, Altinn)

Requirements for the role

  • 6+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience and experience from auditing and/or financial controller roles. Proven working experience as a Financial Controller preferred, but not required.
  • Thorough knowledge of Maestro and preparing tax papers
  • Advanced degree in Accounting. CPA (Statsautorisert Revisor) preferred, but not required.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with preparation of financial statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
  • Be creative and able to think outside the box when solving problems
  • Able to deliver independently with a strong attention to detail
  • Have exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • A preference for learning and growing in a highly diverse and inclusive work environment
