Category Manager

This position reports to the Country Lead Norway and is based in Oslo.

What you will do

The Category Manager is responsible for delivering insight-based shopper innovations as well as fundamental category initiatives to win together with our priority customers on key need states creating long-term business relationships and ensuring above market average category growth. They will also deploy relevant learnings to the organization to drive business with all other customers forward.

Key Responsibilities

Category & Customer strategy

  • Create and execute plans using/inspired by Category Management process
    • Definition, Role, Assessment, Scorecards, Strategy, Tactics, Implementation and Review
  • Identify relevant areas for category growth and translate key opportunities into a category growth strategy (category drivers).
  • Create and deliver Category Visions on assigned categories.
  • Develop category narratives for presentation to customers, based on category insights and KAM input.

Insights generating & execution

  • Build the local fundamental category skills we need to succeed at customer level.
  • Reveal the shopper actions, by leading local insight agenda to ensure all commercial insights are transformed into a relevant overview. Build and maintaining this overview to uncover important unmet shopper and category needs via effective/intelligent go to market strategies and materials. This includes identifying Shopper Missions, Triggers and Barriers.
    • Ensure insights are used for IMPACT implementation by Commercial Activation Manager
  • Create and introduce Commercial Health Scorecard as tracking tool for commercial performance on all key brands e.g. using Brand Funnel tracking
  • Develop and design Activation Manuals for sales force to ensure strong in-store execution on shelf and on floor to strengthen relationship/collaboration with stores/pharmacies to help ensure Kenvue are preferred partner.
  • Plan and manage in-store trials project, analyze the results.
  • Develop and up-date monthly sales- and market share reports (Nielsen/IMS/Farmastat)

External Collaboration

  • Add value to key customers and grow their categories beyond J&J brands, focusing on an objective category growth approach
  • Position Kenvue as the go to company and thought leader in preferred categories
  • Develop customer specific category growth stories for trade meetings together with KAMs and CAMs
  • Drive joint business planning and create best in class execution concepts in co-operation with KAMs/CAMs and customer's management teams
  • Prepare and present category execution at customer headquarter level and be able to hold meetings with key stakeholders with or without KAM representation.

Qualifications


What we are looking for

Required Qualifications
  • University degree in Business administration or respective studies
  • 3-5 years from in similar role (FMCG/OTC/retailer/related businesses)
  • Proven track record in Category management and Insights generation
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal)
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience from a multi-national or regional company within FMCG or OTC
  • Basic financial knowledge
  • Experience from marketing
  • (E-commerce/Digital marketing)
  • Skilled in Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Fluent in Norwegian (written and verbal)
