To be successful in this role, you must have the following attributes:

• PhD degree in engineering, physics, mathematics or similar with good academic results
• Self -sufficient, able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Practical and hands – on approach to task in hand; able to deliver results involving self or offering active participation rather than just theory.
• Good oral and written communication skills in English and also, preferably in Norwegian
• Good consultancy and customer facing attributes.
• Robust interpersonal skills including cooperation, tolerance, a coaching mentality and the ability to convey complicated technical results to lay-persons and experts alike.
• Enthusiastic, positive, open and honest
• Holds a valid driving license.

The role

As a Test Engineer you will be working with physical experimental testing at Gexcon’s test sites. Your role will be to take part in planning, design and calibration for the tests in an office environment. Further, you will participate in the real tests being performed on our test sites as well as subsequent production of the scientific reports.

Such tests are performed for various new energy carriers, new products and appliances as well as new technologies in general. The tests are performed as scientific experiments. You will work together with highly skilled experts on various areas. You will also be in close contact with our international clients as well as other Gexcon offices abroad when project operation requires collaboration.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Generating and following up leads and opportunities for department
• Expected to be customer and commercially focused at all times while maintaining technical quality
• Project Management: The performance and delivery of projects on time, on budget and meeting all stakeholder expectations.
• Advise the team in the use of working methods, technology and best practice in area of technical expertise.
• Assist in training of personnel to enable them to perform tasks within area of technical knowledge.
