We are looking for a dynamic and flexible individual to take on a Competency Advisor role within NOV’s Rig Technologies Aftermarket Education team. The position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, people-focused environment.

In this role, you will be working closely with supervisors, managers, and directors across multiple departments supporting them to ensure team members are performing their roles in line with expectations and job descriptions. A key responsibility will be overseeing the quality assurance of the workplace assessment processes, ensuring fairness and consistency on a global scale. You'll play a key role in guiding conversations, facilitating decision-making, and maintaining alignment with organizational goals and awarding bodies requirements.

Your ability to advise, guide, and speak up is crucial—you’re here to protect the integrity of the competency management system, explain the “why” behind our standards, and foster accountability. A passion for engagement, clear communication, and cultural awareness is essential, as you'll be interacting with individuals across different regions and backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help to maintain and improve the NOV competency system.
  • Work closely with Management Teams to ensure visibility and understanding of KPI’s.
  • Provide monthly reports to management team.
  • Review and update competency documentation in line with business needs.
  • Act as a Workplace Assessor and Internal Quality Assurer.
  • Active support and development of assessors and sites within NOV CMS.
  • Ensures records, practices, and processes of competency system align with the standards set by awarding bodies and NOV.
  • Leading the Product Skill levels review workgroup;
  • Working on improving competency KPIs efficiencies and implementing them globally.
  • Assist with complex projects and frequently provide ideas on how we can streamline and improve our processes.
